Our Family and Cosmetic Dentist, Victor R. Siegel, DDS, recently presented a lecture to senior and junior dental student members of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. The title of the presentation, "Still Crazy (about Dentistry) After All These (35) Years", was borrowed from the song originally sung and written by Paul Simon.  The theme of the talk centered around the need to stay current with advances in dental techniques and technology throughout one's dental career.

To illustrate his theme, Dr. Siegel presented clinical cases involving the use of Cerec CAD/CAM technology in creating single visit ceramic crowns and other dental restorations. Also discussed were the use of oral sedation dentistry, the placement and restoration of dental implants and total mouth reconstruction with porcelain crowns and porcelain veneers to restore worn and failing dentitions.

The lecture was presented on January 29, 2014, at Baltimore's La Tavola restaurant.

Dr. Siegel is currently appointed to the Dean's Faculty as a part time (Fridays) Clinical Instructor in the Advanced General Dentistry Residency department at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
