Dr. Siegel's Office Renews CPR Certification By dlmerulla on March 05, 2012

The Rockville office of Dr. Victor Siegel is known for making people smile again.  And Dr. Siegel and his staff maintain their state of the art office by attending several continuing education classes each year pertaining to their clinical dental skills. However, just as oral health affects so many other systems in the body, our continuing education is not just about our dental knowledge.

It is also a requirement that the staff stay current on CPR training, and this past week the office participated in the bi-annual update for their CPR certification. The training was conducted by the American Safety and Health Institute, and was targeted to the healthcare provider. This training session is not, however, the only time the staff reviews their emergency procedures protocol.  Although the CPR training sessions are required every two years, Dr. Siegel  also conducts emergency preparedness drills several times a year to determine that all equipment works properly, that no emergency medication has expired, and to review staff members' roles in the case of an emergency.

The chances are very slim that a lifesaving emergency will arrive in the dental office, however Dr. Siegel's office is prepared should the need arise.
