Invisalign

Crooked, crowded, twisted, or gapped teeth have a negative impact on your appearance, chewing function, and oral health.

However, many people who need orthodontics may avoid treatment because they don't want to wear metal braces.

At our Rockville, MD, practice, we use Invisalign® to correct misaligned smiles without the need for conventional orthodontics.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Created by Align Technology, Inc., Invisalign utilizes a series of clear aligners to gently and effectively straighten teeth. Whether your teeth are crooked, twisted, crowded, or spaced too far apart, Invisalign can help, leaving you with the beautiful smile you've always wanted. We use Invisalign clear aligners to correct crossbites, overbites, underbites, and other common orthodontic issues. In fact, Invisalign aligners can address most of the same issues as braces.
Invisalign® clear braces are a great option for adults or teenagers who wish to avoid the garish metal brackets of traditional orthodontics. With individualized treatment plans and extensive preplanning, Dr. Victor Siegel can provide his patients with results that go unmatched by other orthodontic treatments. Invisalign® aligners are changed every two weeks for about a year until your teeth have gently and gradually moved into place.

Invisalign treatment is a great option for adults or teenagers who wish to avoid the metal bands and brackets of traditional braces. With individualized treatment plans and extensive preplanning, Dr. Victor Siegel can provide his patients with results that go unmatched by other orthodontic treatments. Clear aligners are changed out every two weeks until the desired tooth movement has been achieved. On average, Invisalign treatment takes 12 to 18 months to complete.

Invisalign Treatment Timeline

After reaching adulthood, many people would prefer not to spend several years wearing uncomfortable metal braces to straighten their teeth – especially if they've already had braces. Whether you've never had major orthodontic work or your teeth have shifted a bit since wearing braces as a child, aligners are a simple and effective treatment for misaligned smiles.

During a consultation at our Rockville, MD, dental office, Dr. Siegel will assess the health of your teeth and gums. He will also take scans and x-rays to determine your eligibility for aligners.

Initial Consultation

Dental Impressions

After putting together a treatment plan, Dr. Siegel will take impressions of your bite using a digital handheld wand. These image files are then sent to the Invisalign lab.

Aligner Fabrication

Using three-dimensional computer imaging, a lab technician will create a series of clear plastic aligners developed specifically to meet your needs.

Aligner Fit

Once the lab has fabricated your aligners, they will be shipped to our Rockville, MD, office. Dr. Siegel will try in your first set of aligners to ensure a proper fit.

Active Treatment

You will wear each aligner for approximately two weeks before moving onto the next in the series. You will return to our office periodically so we can monitor your progress.
