Veneers

Are you unhappy with your smile due to discolored or misshapen teeth, gaps, or minor misalignment?

Dental veneers are a versatile and natural-looking treatment option that can transform your smile in just two office visits.

At his practice in Rockville, MD, Dr. Victor R. Siegel offers porcelain veneers and no-prep LUMINEERS®.

Hide Dental Imperfections With Veneers

Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain and other ceramic materials. They are used to conceal dental flaws. Composite veneers have a lifespan of about 10 years while veneers crafted from porcelain can last up to 20 years. With proper aftercare, dental veneers can be a long-lasting solution to aesthetic imperfections.

Designing Your Veneers

During your first appointment, we will discuss, in detail, your expectations and desires for your teeth, and select a style of veneer to match those desires, right down to the shape, color, and translucency.

Tooth Preparation

We will prepare your teeth for the veneers by removing a small amount of enamel from the front surface of each treated tooth.

Impressions

We may use traditional impressions, digital impressions, or a combination of the two to get detailed models of the treatment area.

Fabrication

The impressions will be sent to the dental laboratory where your veneers will be crafted. A highly qualified ceramicist will prepare your porcelain veneers according to your exact design specifications.

Temporary Dental Veneers

While your permanent veneers are being made, you can wear a set of temporary composite veneers.

Veneer Placement

When your porcelain veneers are ready, you will return to our office, and we will check the fit and color of each veneer. If they meet your expectations and goals, we will then bond them to your teeth using a strong resin material.

LUMINEERS by CERINATE Four Key Benefits

LUMINEERS by CERINATE® are an exciting development in cosmetic dentistry. They may not be the right option for all patients, so we encourage you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Siegel today to find out if they are the right choice for you.

No Enamel Removal

Conventional porcelain veneers require the removal of some enamel to accommodate the thickness of the veneers. However, razor-thin LUMINEERS don’t require any removal of the tooth’s natural structure, anesthetic injections, or drilling.

Strong and Durable

While they are extremely thin, LUMINEERS are made with the strength of patented CERINATE porcelain and can last for more than 20 years with proper care.

Reversible Treatment

The procedure is also reversible; because the original tooth structure is still intact, LUMINEERS veneers can be removed at any time.

Less Risk of Discomfort

Because the tooth structure is still whole and protecting the tooth roots and nerves, there is a low risk of pain after the procedure.

The LUMINEERS Treatment Process

The placement of LUMINEERS takes just two appointments.
The placement of LUMINEERS takes just two appointments.

Impressions

During your first appointment, we will take impressions of your teeth without removing any tooth structure.

Fabrication

The impression will be sent to the CERINATE Smile Design Studios, where your veneers will be created specifically to meet your individual needs.

Placement

You will return to our office when your LUMINEERS are ready to be placed. After lightly buffing the surface of your teeth, we will apply your new LUMINEERS and bond them using a special curing light.

Recovery

After receiving veneers, you should be ready to eat and drink as soon as the numbness from local anesthesia fades. The effects of oral conscious sedation or anesthesia should wear off within a few hours. LUMINEERS patients may have an even shorter recovery since the treatment does not require any anesthesia.

Some patients may feel some rough areas around the veneers after the procedure. This is usually from excess dental cement that holds the veneers in place. The normal routine of eating and brushing should smooth out the rough spots over the first few days.

Dr Siegal performed the most thorough exam I've ever had. He explained every step and what it meant. Next was the Dental Hygienist, Jilna...Jilna really caters to dental whimps (I am one) and I was comfortable throughout. Really great experience.

Veneer Maintenance

Veneers require very little additional maintenance beyond taking care of your oral hygiene by brushing and flossing. After receiving veneers, patients should avoid certain bad habits that can wear down or chip veneers such as:

Biting hard surfaces like ice

Chewing your fingernails

Opening packaging with your teeth

Grinding or clenching your teeth

Patients who play sports or unconsciously grind their teeth should wear mouth guards to protect their new smile.
